The Doctor is a Time-Lord and he is is 903 years old. He lives and travels in the Tardis often with a female companion. Rose Tyler, Donna Noble, Martha Jones and Astrid Peth have been the 10th Doctor's companions so far. He has also had Captain Jack Harkness along on his travels (now runs Torchwood).

His home planet, Gallifrey was destroyed in the great time war between the Time Lords and the Daleks. The Doctor is currently in his 10th body. The Doctor is able to regenerate when near death and takes another body.
